Ryan Reynolds reveals in an interview how he and his wife, Blake Lively, were betrayed by a close family friend after he was caught trying to sell the photos of the couple's newborn daughter, James.

In an interview with GQ Magazine, Ryan Reynolds revealed that he was betrayed by a close friend of 25 years after he was caught trying to sell baby pictures of his daughter.

"A guy that I'd known for my whole life, one of my closest friends growing up, he had been shopping pictures of my baby around," Reynolds told the magazine. "I kind of got in front of it, which is good. But it was a slightly dark period. A bad couple of weeks. It was like a death. It was like one of those devastating things to find out."

Reynolds cut off all contact with the friend after he found out that the latter did it for the money.

"Yeah, just for money. I mean, I don't think he thought he would ever be caught. But it's a pretty narrow group of people that I would send photos like that to. They're just, like, my closest family and my closest friends: 'Here's us in the delivery room!'" Reynolds explained.

In the same interview, Reynolds also explained about why having "Deadpool" next year is the "right time." He explained that it isn't because the Merc with a Mouth is funny or R-rated but because of the audience who would watch it.

"The meta aspect is very important. So I think Deadpool's coming along at the right time, because it's also speaking to that generation and that group of people that have seen them all, seen all these comic-book films and enjoyed them all to varying degrees of success. But I think it's speaking to them as though the guy in that red suit is one of them, to some degree," said Reynolds.

According to the International Business Times, "Deadpool" is a movie for people who are "growing tired of superhero movies." In the interview, Reynolds even made jokes about his previous movie and role as the titular "Green Lantern" but ultimately states that he does not regret his stint as Hal Jordan.

Cinema Blend further reveals that Deadpool isn't as CGI-heavy as other superhero movies because it did not have a super big budget which Reynolds finds "refreshing" especially in the comic-book world. The outlet added that the movie used a lot of stunts and only used CGI on "Deadpool's" mask and on Colossus' steel suit.

"Deadpool" is scheduled to be released in theaters on Feb. 12, 2016.
