'Metal Gear Solid 5' news & updates: PS4 bug issues continue to pest 'The Phantom Pain'
"Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" has been doing great after its release and while the reviews about the game has been nothing but raves, one persistent problem remains and that is the presence of small bugs.
International Business Times writes that since its release, the small bugs have been bugging gamers endlessly, starting with a defect that corrupts a saved file during Mission 29 or 42 while using the character Quiet, losing all the player's progress. And while this has been apparently solved, a bigger kind of bug has infected the game, making everyone in the community try to look for a solution.
This time, the bug affects PlayStation 4 users because according to gamers, they have discovered that their saved files have been corrupted again. As it turns out, players who play "Metal Gear Solid 5" on a PS4 with more than one SEN or Sony Entertainment Network account are victimized by the bug.
Game Spot reports that if gamers try to proceed, the error message, "This save data cannot be used, as the relevant downloadable content was not found." In this scenario, it's impossible to launch the game," will appear. To amend this, the creator of the game, Konami Corporation, recommends playing with only one SEN account per PS4. Although is this not an ideal solution, the company promises to work on a permanent solution and this will be announced later on.
Players thought that the PS4 bug was only an isolated case but as it turns out, almost all PS4 users have encountered the error. An immediate fix will be a nice solution but for now, using a single SEN will have to do. Could this be the reason why series creator Hideo Kojima had a rumored strife with Konami and will soon be leaving the company, marking the end of the Metal Gear Solid franchise?
If that will be the case, at least fans can still enjoy the Metal Gear phenomena online, as the new Metal Gear Online is set to be release this month. In fact, Metal Gear Informer cites that one of their own, crimsonfox, was able to test out the game during Konami Los Angeles Community Day.
In a Twitter Q&A, crimsonfox answered questions of fans, starting with the custom MGS background, clan system possibilities, and many more.
