If her Instagram posts have not been obvious enough, current UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey is publicly reiterating her interest in playing the role of Captain Marvel. Her Instagram posts include fan-produced images of her in the costume.

For the last few months, Rousey has been busy making herself more suitable for the role.

Rousey has already started pumping her acting resume starting with smaller roles in "The Expendables 3," "Furious 7" and "Entourage." She is set to do her first major role with Mark Wahlberg in the movie and Berg's "Mile 22" and will also be seen in the action flick "Road House," as noted in ET Online.

"I'm really looking forward to doing my first starring role opposite Mark Wahlberg [in Mile 22]. Hopefully by the time Captain Marvel comes around, I will have enough experience and skills in the field for them to really seriously consider me," Rousey was quoted on Slash Film.

ET Online says that Kevin Feige, head of Marvel Studios has taken notice of Rousey's push for landing the role of Captain Marvel. If she is successful in getting the part, she will be the first actress to have her own Marvel film franchise.

Fans of the fighter have shown their support, says Tech Times. Her followers believe that she would be a positive role model for girls and give the character a more realistic look.

If Rousey doesn't manage to get the part of Captain Marvel, Tech Times has made a list of other super heroines that the UFC fighter could vie for on the big screen. The list includes the female Thor, post-high school Buffy and more controversial comic figures such as the Red Sonja and She-Hulk.

"Mile 22" will be shown in theaters later this year while "Captain Marvel" is set to premiere on March 8, 2019, says Fox Sports. This is months after the initial set date of July 2018.

The date has been pushed due to the new "Ant-Man" movie that Marvel intends to produce and release before "Captain Marvel," according to the report.

Other than "Mile 22," Rousey is also expected to star in the remake of Round House. She will be taking on the same role that Patrick Swayze did, according to ET Online.

"I was pursuing Road House for like two years. I really don't think that any other man could be [Patrick Swayze]. I think that it's a wise angle to take to kind of do a little gender flip of the role," Rousey said.
