Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber rumors: ex-couple recorded 'Strong' duet together?
Over the weekend, fans of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez were treated to a track the two singers collaborated on, NBC News reports. The song, titled "Strong," was reportedly leaked on Drake's OVO Sound Radio.
Bieber sings in the track, "What should I do? Should I go? / Who do I talk to? Nobody knows / Who knows the answer to all of my questions? When will I get over this?"
Clevver News reports that a verse reads, "I'm just wishing you were better at communication" and "wishing I was better with the distance / Gotta be strong, strong, strong". Meanwhile, Gomez also sings, "Wishing I was better at this damn thing / 'Cause it's just been too long and I can't change."
Billboard reports that this mystery song comes a month before Bieber drops his latest record titled Purpose, while Gomez's Revival was just recently released. Both Bieber and Gomez have not released any official statement on the leaked song.
Meanwhile, Gomez is on the cover of Billboard's latest issue, in which she opened up about her current situation with her ex-boyfriend. She only had praises for Bieber, saying, "I’m proud of him. This is what I always saw in him, why I always believed in him."
However, Gomez admits that they have not been talking, leading fans to wonder when the duet was recorded. E! Online reports, however, that according to a source, the song was "never meant to be released," and "it's not appearing on anyone's album."
Gomez, who also graces the cover of Elle this month, told the magazine, "I'll forever support him and love him in a way that.... We grew up together. I respect him. And I think he respects me, in a healthy manner."
She adds that she is totally focused on her career, what with a new record out. "Finding somebody is not my main focus. I've dated people. I've been on a few dates, which is really exciting," she explained. "But I've never wanted to get into anything serious, because I kind of did that. I have my guard up. I like to meet people in organic settings. Hanging out with a group of people and meeting through mutual people."
Late last month, Bieber also opened up about his relationship with the former Disney star, telling Complex, "People have made it seem in movies that it’s this fairy tale. That’s not what love is. You’re not gonna want to love your girl sometimes but you’re gonna choose to love her. That’s something in life that I had to figure out."
