Wendy Williams 50-lbs weight loss tips & tricks: host admits going to the gym to fight heart disease
In a Q&A portion with fans, Wendy Williams revealed that she lost a total of 50 lbs in three years.
During a recent episode of After Show, a viewer asked Williams for tips on how to lose weight. The popular daytime talk show host responded by crediting her weight loss to her workouts and her new diet.
Williams is not new to dieting. According to People, Williams had previously admitted to trying out various fads to lose weight, one of which includes yo-yo dieting.
She stated on People, "My first diet was in the first grade!"
"I don't belive in fad diets and crash diets. I don't believe in diet pills, I don't want my heart to race out of my chest," she added on After Show.
After taping the Wendy Williams Show, the celebrity interviewer revealed more details about her diet. She says she is no longer eats meat but does not credit her weight reduction to it.
Tuna fish is one of her sources of protein as it "doesn't need so much miracle whip and extra cheese." She admits that she doesn't love eating food as much as before but she does miss eggs.
Her diet now consists more of vegetables such as green peppers, onions and tomatoes as well as wheat pasta. The female host also avoids eating after dark as much as she can.
The new vegan diet has turned her into a fan of juicing. Kale is a staple for her liquid drinks which she sometimes mixes with apples for added flavor.
In terms of her workout, the daytime talk show host says on the After Show that she does do cardio and Pilates to help her relax and stretch. Her trips to the gym are not for losing weight but to help keep her healthy and fit.
"I go to the gym because it's not about me losing weight at this point, it's about me trying to fight heart disease," she revealed on the video.
As reported by Daily Mail, Williams has previously revealed that her current weight stands at around 145 pounds. The talk show host was clearly happy with the results as she stated that it is suitable for a big boned woman with a height of 5 foot 11.
The Wendy Williams Show host encourages fans to stay positive while working out and dieting. "Slow and steady is the name of the game, it won't happen overnight," she adds.
