'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2' trailer, cast news & update: Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson leave mark on Hollywood Boulevard
The main stars of "The Hunger Games" franchise, Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth make it to Hollywood history as they take part in the Handprint Ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theatre on Saturday.
In the traditional Handprint Ceremony done on Hollywood Boulevard's Walk of Fame, Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss Everdeen), Josh Hutcherson (Peeta Mellark) and Liam Hemsworth (Gale Hawthorne) imprinted their hands and feet in wet cement and signed their names to complete it.
Before fulfilling their ceremonial duties, the three were asked to give a speech regarding the momentous occasion.
"I did not know that we were going to have to make a speech today," Lawrence said, according to the report by Variety. "I'm very grateful. I think I can say that on behalf of everyone here for the 'Hunger Games.' I can't remember your names. I'm just kidding, I know your names. Anyway, Liam?"
The actress turned to Hemsworth to cue his turn to be the next one to give the speech.
"I'm going to say to you guys that I'm honored to share it with you," he said as he turned to his co-stars. "Let's just be friends forever."
Hutcherson was up next and thanked the fans: "You guys supported us before the first movie and it could have been really bad, so thank you for that. You guys give us the energy to keep going."
As the last movie based on the dystopian book trilogy by Suzanne Collins draws near, Lawrence bids goodbye to her role as Katniss Everdeen.
"I think it will be pretty bizarre when the movie is finally out and... everything is officially done," she said, according to the report by Yahoo. "This movie has been my life for so many years."
The outlet adds that the franchise gave Lawrence the exposure to become one of Hollywood's well-sought and highest paid actress who is already an Oscar winner before 25.
The first "Hunger Games" movie came out in 2012 and Lawrence shared that adapting to her newfound fame was a bit difficult for her compounded by the pressure to do better in the succeeding films. However, as years go by, the actress has adapted and feels "stable and happy."
The actress recently blasted out a protest regarding the pay inequality against her "American Hustle" co-stars. She addressed the essay and stated that she was mad at herself.
"I would love to straighten up that I wasn't writing about not making as much as my male co-stars, as complaining about that I wasn't getting paid more because I'm a woman," Lawrence said, as reported by Daily Mail.
The epic finale of the four-part movie installment, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part2" will be in theaters on Nov. 20.
