'By The Sea' trailer, cast news & update: watch Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie engage in brutal spousal fight in new movie clip

"By The Sea" is a film written, directed by Angelina Jolie and starred with her husband, Brad Pitt as her leading man. The new trailer looks at the couple who portrays a man and wife who are coming to terms with grief in the movie that was set in the 1970s.

The trailer is a collection of scenes of a married couple who are in a seemingly troubled marriage. Most of the shots took place in a house by the sea.

As to why the trailers did not contain any dialogue, Jolie told Entertainment Weekly: "I wanted to suggest and guide and give hints to the audience but not bore them or reveal all before the film itself. I like trailers that don't explain the whole film.

"It isn't my intention to hide anything from the audience, but the film is a complicated adult drama where things are often not what they seem," she added. "The voyeurism for example, most people will assume only that it is titillating. But it has deeper resonance to the story. I like films that leave questions and cause discussion."

When asked what the story is about, Jolie said in a statement earlier this year that it is about mending a relationship that has suffered loss where the couple is struggling to come to an acceptance to go forth to recovery, Coming Soon reports.

According to EW, Jolie had collaborated with Cinematographer Christian Bergen to help keep the production "realistic as possible" without "big lighting setups for close-ups." The filming was held in Malta in August. It was revealed that the couple worked on the movie during their honeymoon.

When asked if the doing the film made an impact on their home and family life, Jolie revealed that she and Pitt had their difficult moments but were lucky to have their children with them.

"It was an emotionally charged set," Jolie explained to EW. "Even though the characters are very different from us, when you act you still express real emotion. It's impossible to bring your work home with you when you have to snap out of it for your children.

"It wasn't easy for either of us, but when we walked away, we were closer than we had been."

"By The Sea" will be coming to theaters on Nov. 13, 2015.
