Alyssa Milano weight loss tips & tricks: mom of two flaunts bikini-ready body on Instagram
Former "Charmed" star Alyssa Milano who was known for her sultry curves in the cult favorite recently took to Instagram to show off her impressive weight loss following the birth of her second child, a daughter named Elizabeth, in September last year. In fact, ABC News reported in May that the 42-year-old actress is all too familiar with the stubborn post-baby weight that comes with childbearing.
Milano said, "I’ve had weight fluctuations my whole existence, so I’m just trying to stay healthy, trying to have the endurance to get through the day as a mom of two and not be too sleepy."
Recently, however, the actress showed off her svelte figure in an Instagram post where she said she's "suckin' it in".
In May, Milano told People that losing the post-baby weight wasn't a priority for her, but it seems like nature took its course and the pounds had shed off. She said, "I'm not rushing myself to lose it, although I do miss my clothes! I just try to be kind to myself." But what exactly is the secret to the actress' weight loss? "It's really endurance training rather than dieting. I'm just trying to get to a point where my body feels good again. If weight comes off that's great." Celebrity Health Fitness also reports that the Project Runway: All Stars host and judge also credits a low-carb, high-fat Atkins diet that contributed to her weight loss. Nutritionist Colette Heimowitz told Huliq, "The power of the Atkins Diet rests on the fact that it promotes more efficient fat burning. Finding the point the body burns fat is a unique process, and the Atkins Diet teaches you how to find your own individual carbohydrate tolerance. This is a promising picture of efficient and sustained weight loss and robust health improvements." Milano is also an advocate for breastfeeding and was upset when her breast milk was taken away at Heathrow Airport in London during one of her trips. She took to Twitter to express her disappointment, saying, "Every ounce of milk I'm able to produce for my child is nothing short of a miracle and to watch that milk be thrown away without any regard for my baby, was heartbreaking." E! Online reports that this Halloween, Milano posted a throwback photo of herself breastfeeding while wearing a Wonder Woman costume. Last year, she shared her views on breastfeeding on The Talk, saying, "Who are we, that now we get upset as human beings if we see a woman feeding her baby? It's crazy to me. Crazy, crazy, crazy."
