Star Wars: The Force Awakens does not open until December 18, but one fan was granted his dying wish to see the J.J. Abrams-directed film. CNET reports that Daniel Fleetwood, a huge fan of the massive Star Wars franchise and a spindle cell sarcoma patient took to social media to share his dying wish to see the movie before his illness gets him first. The hashtag #ForceForDaniel quickly gained momentum and caught the attention of actor Mark Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker in the film, John Boyega and Peter Mayhew, and thousands of other supporters who are now rooting for Fleetwood to stay strong against his illness.

"Today the wonderful Disney, Bad Robot and Lucasfilm teams made his final dream come true, Daniel just finished watching an unfinished version of Star Wars: The Force Awakens!!!" Fleetwood's wife, Ashley posted on Facebook on Thursday.

"We would like to thank the awesomely talented JJ Abrams for calling us yesterday to tell us Daniel was getting his wish granted!" she gushed.

Zap2it reports that doctors told Fleetwood in September that he only had one to two months to live. More recently, doctors said that 90% of his lungs are filled with tumors, but he beat his doctor's prognosis that he would live for two months.

"If I got to see the movie, I might actually die from happiness," the Texas native told People. "Growing up, I would watch the movies over and over and analyze every little detail. I hope I get to see what happens."

Fleetwood credits his wife of five years for his strength throughout the whole cancer ordeal. He said, "However strong I am in this situation, Ashley is even stronger because she chose to be in this situation. She stuck by my side when it really mattered and that's amazing in itself."

Fleetwood's story does not end there, as the medical expenses continue to pile up. The Fleetwoods have a crowdfunding page where supporters can donate to help pay for his medical bills.

Meanwhile, a new trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been revealed for Asian audiences, and Mashable reports that its meatier than the previous trailers released by the studio. With so much more footage, TIME reports that the new trailer features Daisy Ridley's Rey telling BB-8 that she is waiting for her family. She also gets a close call with Kylo Ren's lightsaber.

"We will fulfill our destiny," Kylo Ken says in the new trailer, which is viewable below. Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in theaters on December 18.
