Ugly Betty's America Ferrera is making a major TV comeback as star and producer of the upcoming NBC workplace comedy titled Superstore, which debuts this month. Created by The Office writer Justin Spitzer, Superstore follows a group of eccentric employees in a megastore that sells anything and everything. The show also stars Kids in the Hall's Mark McKinney, Mad Men's Ben Feldman, Lauren Ash, Colton Dunn, Nochole Bloom and Nico Santos.

Entertainment Weekly shares an exclusive 2.5 minute preview of the new show, which debuts on November 30 for two episodes (right after The Voice) before continuing in January. Head over to EW.com to watch the clip.

"We're extremely excited about 'Superstore' and are so fortunate to have the incredibly talented America Ferrera, who won over the hearts of viewers and critics in 'Ugly Betty,' coming to NBC as a producer and star," president of NBC Entertainment Jennifer Salke said to Latina. "She's joined by a terrific ensemble in a comedy set in a location everyone in the country can really relate to."

Ferrera, who unspokenly wrote about her opinions on presidential candidate Donald Trump's racist remarks, also spoke out earlier this year about the lack of diversity in American television.

The 31-year-old actress won a Golden Globe award in 2007, followed by Gina Rodriguez's win for Jane the Virgin this year.

"It’s not a Golden Globes problem, it’s not an award ceremony problem. It’s a creation of content issue," Ferrera told Huffington Post. Both Ferrera and Rodriguez won the awards for shows that were adapted from Latin American telenovelas.

"We need more in art and entertainment that is reflective of the world that we live in. And there’s just not enough reflection in it for women, for people of color," Ferrera observed. "There’s still a huge amount of stories that have yet to be told and we need those voices to find those platforms so that they can share those experiences."

The actress is also well-versed in current issues surrounding Hollywood actresses today, including the double standard for beauty.

"It's very heightened in the entertainment industry because it's an industry that likes to focus on image and looks, but it's something that women face in every field," Ferrera told Cosmopolitan. "Whether you're a lawyer or a doctor or an athlete, there's an importance placed on what you look like to a degree that's just pretty silly and an incredible double standard -- it's just not there for men who are athletes or men who are lawyers. The expectation that you should be good at your job and look the way people expect you to look just isn't there for men."
