Is Prince William's brother, Prince Harry, hurt after falling off his pony twice? Find out the details here!
It seems that Prince Harry's horse wasn't agreeing with him during his stint at a charity match in South Africa over the weekend, BBC reports. The 31-year-old was at the Sentebale Royale Salute Polo Club in Cape Town on Saturday, where he was on hand to help raise funds for the charitable institution.
During one of the games, accomplished polo player was thrown forward, head first onto the ground, but was able to break his fall with his hands. He was unhurt but, unfortunately, took another fall towards the end of the game, falling between two other players. Thankfully, the prince walked away from the fall unscathed.
While Prince Harry was able to score one of the goals, his team went on to lose, 8-7, to the Royal Salute at the Val de Via Estate. According to Sentebale cofounder, Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, "The success of our previous five polo events has helped Sentebale make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable children in Lesotho."
The first charity polo match for Sentebale was held in 2010, and since then has raised over £3 million in various events held in the United Kingdom, United States, Brazil, Barbados, and Abu Dhabi.
"The situation in Lesotho remains critical and everyday children continue to lose their parents to the HIV/Aids epidemic," Prince Seeiso said. "Sentebale works to protect and support these children providing them with basic necessities we take for granted: food, shelter, care and access to education."
Meanwhile, Us Magazine reports that Prince Harry was also present to open the Mamohato Children’s Centre in Lesotho, Africa on Thursday, where he opened up about his mother, Princess Diana's death for the first time in many years.
Harper's Bazaar reports that according to the young royal, "I knew there would always be a gaping hole that could never be filled."
"The children at the center were far younger than me, and of course, their situation was a great deal more challenging than my own," Prince Harry admitted. "Nonetheless, we shared a similar feeling of loss, having a loved one—in my case a parent—snatched away so suddenly."
In addition, the Prince said that it was his mother's passion for philanthropy that motivated him to participate in similar activities as well. He said earlier this year, "It's equally important, if not more so, to do the stuff behind the scenes. It's something that our mother did a lot. And that's the time you really get to learn. You get the experiences and you actually get the honest truth out of people."
Prince Harry and his brother, the Duke of Cambridge are also the founders of The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, an organization that enables them to pursue their charitable ambitions. The organization focuses on issues such as youth, sustainable development, and armed forces, among others.
