A recently discovered benchmark test appears to confirm a three-year speculation that the Microsoft Surface Phone is coming to stores. Read on to get the details on the Windows 10 device's possible release date, price, specs, and features.

GSM Arena says the device, labeled as 'Microsoft Surface Phone' was found on HTML5Test benchmark site. Recent reports by Latinos Post indicate that the mysterious device runs on Windows 10 build 10240.

According to sources, the Windows 10 used on this device is similar to the operating system used for desktops. The device also appears to use an Edge 12 browser.

What is unusual is that the device features a screen resolution of 640x360. Sources speculate that the rumored Microsoft smartphone may be a prototype or they are testing its performance on different screen resolutions.

With a score of 401 out of possible 555, it appears that the device may not be fully for a full market launch.

Reports by Christian Today indicate that the handset will feature an x86 processor, allowing the device to run Microsoft's Continuum feature as well as 32-bit desktop apps. The Continuum is a Windows 10 feature that allows smartphone users to sync all Windows devices.

Although the Continuum feature is already found on desktops and smartphones under the Lumia 950 series, the International Business Times says that Microsoft still lacks apps which fully utilize this feature. Once it does, devices running on Windows 10 will have full access to approximately 650,000 mobile apps and 7 million desktop apps inside the Windows Store.

The multinational technology producer has not confirmed a release date or features for this device although reports by Yibada indicate that the device known as "Juggernaut Alpha" will be released around March 2016 and will feature an Intel Skylake chipset. If true, the Microsoft Surface Phone is expected to launch along with Redmond's HoloLens developers' kit.

Other unconfirmed features include a 5.5-inch display and 4GB of RAM built into the device.

It is important to note that it has been three years since the rumors of a Microsoft Surface Phone first circulated. Since then, Ecumenical News says the Redmond company had only launched two Lumia devices: the 950 and 950 XL.

Microsoft achieved newfound success with its line of tablet/laptop hybrid devices. Devices such as the Surface Pro 3 and 4 allowed users to attach a physical keyboard which converted their tablets into semi-laptops.
