'Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens' news, cast & rumors: why Luke Skywalker will not appear in trailers, posters and other promotions

"Star Wars" has always been one of the favorite movie franchises of people all over the world. No wonder there are so many people who are very excited and thrilled to see the upcoming "Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens" in the big screen. 

The official list of movie casts has already been revealed and confirmed. We have Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Gwendolin Christie as Captain Phasma, Peter Mayhew as Chewbacca, Daisy Ridley as Rey, Harrison Ford as Han Solo, Carrie Fisher as Leia, and Adam Driver as Kylo Ren. While the confirmation of the cast has already been exciting, Mark Hamill knows how to spice up things better. He dropped a hint on what his character would be like in the most awaited installment of the movie franchise.

According to The Week, the actor said that his character will be different in this installment. He said that Luke Skywalker will no longer be the innocent farmer that fans used to know him. He hinted that there are going to be a lot of surprises in the movie, especially in his character.

Aside from giving hints about his character, he also revealed how he felt when shooting for his scenes in Ireland. He said that he actually felt like he was in the Star Wars universe when shooting for the film. This just means that the setting is definitely close to the universe that they are showing in the movie. If that is the case, then the upcoming installment will definitely be a good one.

While the promotions for "Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens" continue as the movie release date is coming near, fans can't help but to wonder why there is still no Luke Skywalker in the movie posters and trailers.

The "Star Wars" team did not reveal any information yet. They gave statements, but these statements are not concrete answers to the fans' questions. They decided to let it remain as a mystery.

According to Variety, Kathleen Kennedy, the CEO of Lucasfilm, said that the character of Luke Skywalker is among the most interesting and biggest themes in the installment.

The "Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens" will hit theaters this coming Dec. 18. A few weeks left and fans will be able to unveil the truth behind Luke Skywalker's absence in movie promotions.
