The Nokia Lumia 521's price has increased on Amazon.com, but the positive is the free shipping offer remains.
Amazon spiked the price of the Lumia 521 by nearly $10. On Jan. 15, the Lumia 521 was priced at $79.99, which was a 47 percent discount from its original list price of $149.99.
As of Jan. 20, the Lumia 521 is priced at $89.61, which is a 40 percent discount or $60.38 savings from the original list price.
Despite the price increase, Amazon will ship the Windows Phone 8 device for free since the product cost more than $35.
Elsewhere, the online Microsoft Store has the Lumia 521 for $69, which is a discount from the original $99 price tag. The online Microsoft Store is also offering free shipping and returns.
The Lumia 521, an exclusive smartphone with mobile carrier T-Mobile, can be purchased from the company's official website. T-Mobile has the Lumia 521's full price at $102, which is down from its previous $126. A $0 up-front offer is also available with T-Mobile as long as the consumer pays $4.25 for the next 24 months.
As Latino Post reported, MetroPCS is offering the Lumia 521 for $29. The original price for the Lumia 521 was $99, but MetroPCS issued a couple discounts including a rebate offer for the $29 cost to come into fruition. To be precise, MetroPCS added an "Instant Discount" worth $50 followed by a $20 mail-in rebate. According to the mail-in rebate form, the $29 offer ends April 29.
The Lumia 521 sports a 4-inch touchscreen and 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording. When it comes to memory, the smartphone has 8GB of internal storage with 512MB of RAM. A microSD card slot is available for an additional 64GB of storage. The battery capacity for the Windows Phone 8 smartphone is 1,430mAh.
