Season 6 of the "Game of Thrones" series may not be due until April of next year but as early as this Monday, fans of the popular television series have taken their excitement to social media upon seeing HBO's teaser poster. So how will the former Lord Commander of the Night's Watch get resurrected?

HNGN says fans have long been doubtful that Jon Snow truly died during the final episode of Season 5 although how he survived being stabbed multiple times remains a mystery. The release of HBO's teaser poster featuring a bloodied Jon Snow confirmed their suspicions that the character was still alive or has been brought back to life.

Reports by Watchers on the Wall reveal there are only a few weeks left before the crew wraps up production for Season 6. Carice van Houten had been involved with the filming behind closed doors, leading some to speculate that Melisandre may be involved the resurrection of the beloved character.

Yibada speculates that Melisandre sees Snow as the Azor Azai. In the series, the Azor Azai is seen as a character who rises from the "salt and smoke," using the sword Lightbringer to defeat the darkness.

The presence of the ball-on-the-stick indicates that Jon's direwolf, Ghost, will be integrated into the scenes in the upcoming season. According to the same source, the special effects stick has been used frequently, which indicates that the Ghost will play an important role.

During an interview conducted earlier this year, Carice Van Houten hinted on Snow's return.

"You've seen her clock Jon Snow, which is a great ending because you think, 'Uh-oh, what's going to happen there?' You feel that she is concentrating more and more towards Jon Snow... there are slight hints that something's going to happen," Van Houten was quoted on The Grumpy Fish.

An alternate theory has been proposed by the Vine Report. According to the source, instead of the Red Princess, the character may be revived by Ian McShane's character in the series.

In a recent interview, he stated that he would be "responsible for bringing somebody back that you think you're never going to see again."

According to reports by the Independent, Kit Harrington, the man who plays Jon Snow, had already been sighted on the 'Game of Thrones' set earlier this year.

Sources indicate that Snow will no longer hold the position of Lord Commander of the Night's Watch. Rumors point to Allister Thorne as the new Lord Commander although some believe another Westeros character may also get the position.

Telegraph says that in Season 6, Snow would no longer be known as the bastard son but the nephew of Eddard Stark. Rumors indicate that he is the son of Lyanna Stark, Eddard's sister and Targaryen Prince Rhaegar.

Independent says the new season is expected to debut on HBO on the 17th or 24th of April 2016.
