There are a lot of expectations from the new Honda Accord 2016 model, thanks largely to its predecessor, the 2015 Honda Accord, which was named by Kelley Blue Book, a California-based automotive which primarily provides research and valuation data of new and used vehicle prices, as their Best Buy of 2015 awardee in the midsize sedan segment and one of their best family cars.

Of course, it also adds pressure that the Car and Driver magazine constantly picked the Accord models as part of its 10- Best list in a record 29 times. Accords' sister car, the 2016 Honda Civic, also happened to bag KBB's overall Best Buy distinction recently.

But, this good reputation is also something the new Accord can bank on. The 2016 Honda Accord is sporting a new look with changes from its front and rear design. This gives both the sedan and coupe a sportier, edgier look, and new exterior colors and new wheels, wrote PressofAtlanticCity.

The 2016 Accord sedan and coupe will both run on a standard 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine that delivers 185 horsepower and 181 lb.-ft. of torque and comes with a CVT automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. The EX-L and Touring models, on the other hand, come with a 278-horsepower, 252 lb-ft torque V-6 engine with the same transmission options.

For its tech features, the Accord have included Apple Carplay and Android Auto, which are the latest in mobile connectivity, a 7-inch display audio, and speed-sensitive volume control. When it comes to safety, the vehicle features a multi-angle rearview camera, forward collision and lane departure warning, and Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) which helps keep the car in the middle of the lane, according to Honda.

The price of the sedan starts at $22,100 MSRP with city/hi-way rating of 27/37 MPG while the coupe starts at $23,700 MSRP with a city/hi-way rating of 26/35 MPG. But, as part of the Happy Honda Sales campaign of the Japanese automaker, a 2016 Honda Accord Touring sedan, valued at around $35,000, will be given away as the grand prize in the #OpentheCheer Twitter contest.

In order to gain entry for a chance to win both the grand prize and the instant-win games, one needs to retweet a Honda tweet every day during the promotion, according to Edmunds. For every retweet, Honda will be donating $1 to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.

For the instant-win games, smaller prizes including a smartwatch valued at $400 will also be given every day. The grand prize winner will be announced on Jan. 4, 2016. Check out the contest's complete details here.
