Get ready to relive the sweat-inducing dance moves of 1987's "Dirty Dancing," the romantic film that starred Patrick Swayze as Johnny Castle and Jennifer Grey as Frances "Baby" Houseman. According to The Hollywood Reporter, ABC will be adapting the film into a TV movie musical. Jessica Sharzer, the Emmy-nominated director and producer whose credits include Showtime's "The L Word" and FX's "American Horror Story."

Nineteen-year-old Academy Award-nominated actress Abigail Breslin, who is best known for her roles in 2006's "Little Miss Sunshine," 2009's My Sister's Keeper, 2013's "Ender's Game" and most recently, television's "Scream Queens," will play the iconic role of Baby Houseman.

The "Dirty Dancing" TV musical will come from Lionsgate TV and will be produced by Allison Shearmur Productions ("The Hunger Games") and Eleanor Bergstein, who wrote the screenplay for the 1987 film. "Glee's" Adam Anders and Peer Astrom are on board to create the music while Anders and "Crazy Heart's" Judy Cairo are set to produce.

According to Variety, Wayne Blair will direct the TV movie adaptation. Blair is best known for the highly acclaimed "The Sapphires," released in 2013, which won 11 out of the 12 Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards (AACTA) it was nominated for during the ceremony's second year.

Meanwhile, "Hamilton"'s Andy Blankenbuehler is set to choreograph, while “Gosford Park’s” Stephen Altman will serve as production designer.

Unlike similar programs in the game genre such as NBC's "The Wiz Live!" and FOX's "Grease Live", ABC's "Dirty Dancing" adaptation will be filmed ahead of broadcast. Variety reports that ABC has long been planning this move, and has been looking for talent to fill in the two main roles. Patrick Swayze's Johnny hasn't been cast yet, but the network already has a list of high-profile actors they would like to fill the role with.

"Dirty Dancing" garnered worldwide success in 1987, with a budget of $6 million that went on to earn $213 million. The film was directed by Emile Ardolino and produced by Linda Gottlieb, with music by Linda Gottlieb and Erich Bulling.

Entertainment Weekly reports that despite efforts to remake the success of the original film, the 2004 reimagining "Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights" failed to capture audiences. There was also a short-lived TV series based on the original 1987 film, starring Patrick Cassidy and Melora Hardin, and a stage musical version.

There is no premiere date yet for ABC's "Dirty Dancing", but check back for more updates on the much-anticipated comeback of Baby and Johnny.
