In the first look for Warner Bros.' movie "The Legend of Tarzan," Alexander Skarsgard could be seen showcasing his insane 8-pack abs while drenched in the rain. His co-star Margot Robbie plays as Jane Porter looks ravishing as a red head.

The movie is a reboot and is not so similar to the classic story. The "Legend of Tarzan" delves into John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke, a Congo native who 10 years prior went to 1880s Victorian London as a fully realized British gentleman with his wife Jane. He goes back to his home country as an emissary of Parliament. However, he and his wife encounter danger and the legend of Tarzan starts from there. "This is about a man who's holding back and slowly as you peel off the layers, he reverts back to a more animalistic state and lets that side of his personality out," Skarsgard told USA Today. The movie is directed by David Yates and finds Skarsgard's casting to be perfect as the lord of the jungle.

"He has this wonderful quality of not quite belonging to one or the other," Yates told the outlet. The director pertains to the movie actor's Swedish upbringing who grew up to work in America. The actor's height and frame were deemed suitable as well.

"Tarzan needs muscles, but it's more a leaner, longer, more vertical modern man than the square-jawed stereotype we're used to," Yates said.

To prepare for his role, Skarsgard trained for four months to shape his body.

"I basically didn't see my family or my friends," the 39-year-old actor said and adds "[it] was definitely worth getting up at 4:30 in the morning."

The actor also worked with choreographer Wayne McGregor to perfect his posture and movement as a properly reared Englishman who goes back to his African home as a man of the jungle.

While Jane has been pictured as the portrait of a genteel proper English lady in the original story, the reboot had her modernized. Yates says that Jane is "in no way a passive partner to Tarzan. She's a really strong, assertive, beautifully knowledgeable, very sexy modern woman who can more than look after herself," E! Online reports. "In a way, it's a story of two human beings and how they save each other."

Joining Skarsgard and Robbie are Samuel L. Jackson, Djimon Hounsou and Christoph Waltz. "The Legend of Tarzan" will be coming to theaters on July 6, 2016.
