Microsoft Xbox One not the last console from company, according to Phil Spencer; is Xbox Two in the works? [RUMORS]

The home video game console XBox One was launched by Microsoft in 2013 as the third console in the XBox family, succeeding the Xbox 360. Since then, there haven't been many changes in the game console arena, and Ubergizmo reports that according to analysts, the current generation's consoles look like they will be the last.

However, head of Microsoft's Xbox division Phil Spencer recently spoke to The Verge about how Xbox will evolve in the future and whether or not they will create more consoles soon.

Spencer said, "I fully expect that you’ll see another console from us. Our best customers are Xbox console customers, and I want to keep those people engaged both on the Xbox One and anything we might do in the future. I’m 100 percent committed to that."

Spencer added, "I don’t want to dilute what the Xbox console customer feels. I want to expand what we’re able to do for more customers."

The Verge reports that with Microsoft, there has been a huge lack of focus on games. In fact, "Halo" isn't available on Windows 10, and according to 323 Industries' Bonnie Ross, it's because the franchise has already made an impact outside of the PC realm: in Halo mobile games, the Halo Waypoint social platform; and the upcoming Halo Wars 2, which will be available for Xbox One and PC.

Meanwhile, Spencer tells The Verge, "I love that console experience. It’s obviously the core of what Xbox is about, and Xbox One is our most important gaming device inside the company. There’s no doubt about that."

He adds, "As head of gaming inside of Microsoft, I think about how we make sure that all of those customers feel as supported and engaged as the Xbox fans do who own a game console."

If there is a real chance of an Xbox Two, it might be a number of years away as Xbox 360 took almost 10 years to deliver. Meanwhile, gamers can look forward to the Nintendo NX, which is reportedly arriving in 2016.

TIME reports that according to Nintendo president and CEO Tatsumi Kimishima, "I can assure you we’re not building the next version of Wii or Wii U. It’s something unique and different. It’s something where we have to move away from those platforms in order to make it something that will appeal to our consumer base."
