'Deadpool' Movie Trailer, Release Date & News: Ryan Reynolds Announces '12 Days of Deadpool'; Watch the Merc's Announcement Here [VIDEO]

Deadpool sends some advanced holiday cheer as the Merc announces "12 Days of Deadpool." Watch Ryan Reynolds dress up as another iconic guy with a red suit as he gives a special announcement.

Basically, for the next 12 days starting today, there will be some material from the "Deadpool" movie that will get released leading to the launch of a brand new trailer on Christmas Day. The trailer reveals different outlets such as People, IMAX, Fandango, Mashable and DeviantArt to name some have something to reveal during their allotted day. According to Slash Film, the content to be released may be a poster, images or a featurette.

For the first day, Entertainment Weekly released an exclusive poster which shows the lower half of the Merc's body with his hand holding a gun and another holding his belt. It is cheekily emblazoned with the words as a double entendre and heads up to the anti-hero's own brand of humor.

"The movie focuses on Wade's relationship with Vanessa and it's actually a great love story," Tim Miller, the director told EW when asked about the Merc's love interest who is played by actress Morena Baccarin. "But we don't punt the issue of his sexual urges. It's in the comic and it's in our film."

According to Screen Crush, the poster is a reference to Jack Nicholson's Joker. There are three versions of the trailer. One trailer will launch on Christmas Day while the other will be a red-band version. Both will run for 2 minutes and 24 seconds. The last one will be an IMAX teaser trailer that will run for 27 seconds and is scheduled to be played before "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

"Deadpool" will be coming to theaters on Feb. 12, 2016. It is written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Reynolds will be joined by Andre Tricoteux as Colossus, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Morena Baccarin as Copycat and Ed Skrein as Ajax.

According to 20th Century Fox, the movie is "based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life."
