'Kingdom Hearts 3', 'Kingdom Hearts 2.8' Trailer Released: No DLC Character Confirmation, See New Animations & Gameplay Action [VIDEO]
Many gamers are looking forward to the release date of "Kingdom Hearts 3." The anticipated game continues to make headlines, but its popularity drops after being out of the top 10 games in the Famitsu list.
Parent Herald previously reported that "Kingdom Hearts" is down three spots in the recent Famitsu list. The title is now sitting at the number 11 spot. Some believe that among the reason the game drops from the list is the long wait. However, it is also possible that other games highlighted new features that made fans more interested and excited on it over "Kingdom Hearts 3."
Square Enix is determined to redeem the hype about "Kingdom Hearts 3." The development team just released a new trailer. The newest trailer released covers both "Kingdom Hearts 3" and "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue," GameSpot reported.
The recent trailer coincides with the Jump Festa event in Japan. "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" was first announced in September, which confuses many due to its odd name. Director Tetsuya Nomura explained the name factors and the use of strange math formula that bring the number 2.8. Meanwhile, "Kingdom Hearts 3" was announced in 2013. It's the first game with a proper, whole number since "Kingdom Hearts 2."
The new trailer features plenty of gameplay in action. However, it does not reveal any new Disney characters that might be appearing in "Kingdom Hearts 3" or "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8," per International Business Times. The trailer is five minutes long and it highlighted the gameplay for both titles.
For gamers who are only interested with "Kingdom Hearts 3," you can jump straight to 3:38 of the trailer, Kotaku has learned. For those who wanted a refresher of what "Kingdom Hearts 2.8," here's the breakdown via the trailer's YouTube description:
"Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue contains the newly remastered Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, the cinematics from Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ [chi], and a special all new chapter taking place after the events of Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. Coming 2016!"
IBTimes reported that, based on the trailer, "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be adding plenty of gameplay elements. Sora can be affected by the environment during the battle. The trailer also showed one section where Sora, Donald and Goofy ride a large vehicle and start shooting enemies into oblivion.
Although a new trailer is out, GameSpot pointed out that the development team will be keeping fans occupy with "Kingdom Hearts 2.8," which will be released in 2016 while they continue to work on "Kingdom Hearts 3."
