Beatles Songs Will Start Streaming On Christmas Eve
Many Beatles fans will be spending Christmas a little Merrier today.
Starting on Thursday, Christmas Eve, all music from the world's most popular band will be available on many music streaming services. Reports say that the British iconic band, The Beatles, have granted access to showcase their classic hits through streaming services such as Spotify, Google Play, Apple Music and Tidal. There are also other streaming Apps or sites where fans can listen to their Fab Four favorites, including Prime Music from Amazon, Groove, Deezer and Slacker, New York Post reported.
It has already been confirmed by Spotify that both premium and free users can access all songs from the Beatles. This is such good news for all the fans who have been waiting for this time to happen. This will be the first time Beatles will make their whole catalog available online for streaming; certainly a big step for the industry fans should take advantage of. Their albums came out in 2010 through paid service on iTunes.
Spotify's post on their Twitter signals the coming of the Fab Four will be happening.
"Attention, United Kingdom! The Beatles are now streaming from Liverpool to London, and beyond."
"The greatest band. The entire catalogue. Tonight at midnight. #BeatlesOnSpotify"
Most artists are now switching to steaming platform as their source of income after realizing that it has overtaken the digital download stage. The music industry could be seeing a dying era.
BPI Director of Communications Gennaro Castaldo stated through Sky News: "An increasing number of music consumers are switching to streaming for their day-to-day needs, while still also buying and collecting their favorite artists on vinyl and CD, so the addition of such iconic albums can only accelerate the dramatic growth of this digital platform," in a report by New York Post.
In a report by ReCode, there are services that won't have full access to the catalog, which include Pandaro and Rdio. The former is reported to have not done business directly with the owners of the music, while Rdio officially shuts down today.
There were many artists prior to the Beatles who refused to believe that putting their catalog on streaming services is not a good idea but eventually changed their mind. Metal legend AC/DC, who first were very adamant of the whole idea of the online service, released their whole catalog this year on streaming. Led Zeppelin also started streaming their songs in 2013. Many musicians are definitely beginning to adapt the changes of the industry.
