'Gears of War 4' Release Date, Trailer & Rumors: Title Set For Xbox One Only? Game To Feature Only Two Instead of Four Characters?
The Coalition's "Gears of War 4" is reportedly an Xbox One exclusive game and many have been anticipating its release for this year. It is rumored that instead of having four in-game characters, the game developers will only provide two.
"Gears of War" is a third-person shooter game series centered on a future with humans battling against reptilian creatures called the Locust Horde. "Gears of War 3" ended with humanity winning over the creatures and it is unknown what humanity will face next in the next installment.
The developers have been mum about the details for "Gears of War 4" but it is rumored that it will only have two characters instead of the usual four-character scheme, Christian Post reports. This means that players will rely more on strategy and improving their especially when they are against numerous foes.
During the E3 event last year, the trailer for "Gears of War 4" was revealed and two young soldiers were introduced as JD and Kait, who both have no prior experience in the battlefield.

The Coalition's Rod Fergusson revealed to IGN in an interview of what fans can expect of the new game.
"We're going back to something personal, intimate, dark, and mysterious, being afraid of the boogeyman."
He adds that the franchise moved from a "monster game" to a "war game" and since The Locust has been identified or known as enemy creatures and with gamers not so terrfied by Wretches anymore, the company is going back to its roots of giving fans mysterious creatures to battle in the fourth installment soon.
"The stories have changed a lot from 10 years ago. Back in the day people expected stories to be black and white, there's good and bad," Fergusson said. Today, people want a lot of grey, a lot moral ambiguity, things that are open to interpretation about what's right and wrong."
He adds that The Coalition will be "treating the franchise properly" by making it co-op again before moving to "greater innovations" in future titles.
"Rather than follow those games, I'd rather lead by being true to what makes Gears Gears," he said. "That's why we're going back to co-op, the two of you sharing that experience. It's awesome."
According to the game's official Xbox page, "Gears of War 4" will be exclusively released for the Xbox One on the holiday season of 2016.
