Back in October after giving birth to twins Cy Aridio and Bowie Ezio, the first-time mom shared on Facebook how her pregnancy and growing family is a proud moment for her. “We are stronger when we stick together -- wishing each other good, cheering each other along,” Saldana said.
Saldana also shared to People about her fitness journey to going back to her slim physique after giving birth. She shared some tips for new moms about embracing your body and losing weight. The actress had some empowering words for those, saying that it only takes “determination” to reach their goals.
“Be easy on yourself and embrace the place you’re at in life. And that also involves embracing where your body is at, and just waking up every day with a determination to get to where you want to be," Saldana told People. “Our bodies got here because we had children, because now we’re mothers, because we’re full blown f---ing women so it’s a gift; it’s really beautiful."
The actress also shared the importance of appreciating your body and knowing that you're beautiful, even with some extra pounds.
She said, "I’m not going to let the extra pounds or what I used to be or what I am, consume my time and take away from the beauty of where I find myself today. I can’t allow that to happen because at the end of the day, it’s physicality, and thinking about it in a very cosmetic way is superficial, and it’s become more spiritual for me."
