Coldplay surprised fans in December when they announced that they will perform during the 2016 Super Bowl Halftime Show, which will be held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California on Feb. 7, Billboard reports. This will be the first for the British rock band, who released their seventh studio album titled "A Head Full of Dreams" last month.

Now, ET Online reports that Coldplay will be joined by Beyonce, sparking speculations that the band will perform the song "Hymn for the Weekend," a track they collaborated on. Another guest performer comes in the form of Bruno Mars, who also performed during the Super Bowl Halftime Show back in 2014. Beyonce hit the stage in 2013, bringing back her Destiny's Child bandmates Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland for an epic performance.

"Are you kidding me? It's the greatest moment of our band's life. We're going to give it everything we have," Coldplay's front man, Chris Martin said in a video interview promoting their Superbowl Halftime Show performance.

The video also showed Coldplay's childhood friend and artistic director Phil Harvey claiming that there will be "special guests" on the show. He said, "Today, it’s about how do we stage our special guests. Yesterday, what I was nervous about, it was all about the set list."

Rumors sparked that "A Head Full of Stars" was the band's final album, but Martin told Entertainment Weekly in November that the band is not breaking up. Instead, he said that the record is "a bit like a finale, or a final scene."

Martin also talked about collaborating with Beyonce, saying, "She’s all goodness."

"This album is about celebrating and this angel figure kept popping up and I was thinking, ‘Gosh, Beyoncé would be perfect, but she’d never do it,'" he admitted. "One day, we were talking and I was trying to drop the hint, but I didn’t want to be imprudent. And she said I’ll do it."

The result is "Hymn for the Weekend", which will most likely be on the Super Bowl performance set list, now that Beyonce is confirmed to be on board.

Earlier this week, Digital Spy reported that Rihanna may be the other surprise guest appearing alongside Coldplay. The band and the pop singer collaborated on the hit "Princess of China" back in 2012.

Fans can catch Coldplay, Beyonce, Bruno Mars, and other special guests at the Super Bowl 50 atLevi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Sunday, Feb. 7 and will air live on CBS.
