Jordana Brewster is popular for her character in the hit franchise "Fast and Furious." She plays as Mia Toretto, the younger sister of Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) who later started a family with Brian O'Connor (Paul Walker) in the film.

With Walker's untimely demise, there are speculations that Brewster will not return in "Fast and Furious 8." The last franchise sent the message that Brian and Mia will be leaving the team for their family.

Of course, it would be a painful task to still work on Walker's CGI just to keep him on the team. But will the "Hours" star's untimely retirement lead to Brewster's retirement in the franchise as well?

SlashFilm reported that Brewster appeared on a Television Critics Association panel for "Secrets and Lies" Season 2 on ABC. She will be playing the role of a murdered wife in flashbacks. After the panel, the reporters asked her about the status of "Fast and Furious 8."

Many were interested to know if she would be reprising her role since it's been unclear whether her character will return or not. Brewster was very cooperative in engaging with the press about the issue.

"There hasn't been discussion but I can kind of see it go either way," she said. "Mia is with Brian but on the other hand, she's still Dom's sister. I don't know. I'm not sure."

The cast and the filmmakers have acknowledged that making the first "Fast and Furious" film without Walker would be bittersweet, but everyone are motivated to move forward, including Brewster, if she would still be in "Fast and Furious 8."

"The best part was Paul and now it's the fans," Brewster said. "I think the fans have a hunger for it which is amazing, but it'll be different for sure."

Over a year ago, Brewster also talked about the same thing about her role in "Fast and Furious 8" in an interview with HuffPost Live. "I don't know [if I'd do another film], but it's always dependent on the fans," she said. "If they want one and if there's an appetite for it. We never want to jump the shark!"

Brewster and Walker co-starred in the original "Fast and Furious" film. The latter romantically pursued the former to go undercover against her brother, Dominic. After O'Connor was exposed as a cop, they were torn apart but reunited in the fourth film with some antagonism. She got pregnant in "Fast and Furious 5" and they started their family.

With Walker's unexpected death, "Fast and Furious 7" ends in a tribute to him. They featured O'Connor playing with his child on the beach and bidding goodbye to the street racing life he learned to live with the team.

Will Brewster appear in "Fast and Furious 8?" Well, let us see.

"Fast and Furious 8" will premiere on April 14, 2017.
