Kate Hudson Flaunts Abs at Golden Globes; Maintains 70-lb Weight Loss --- Check out her Alkaline Diet Here!
Kate Hudson wowed a lot of spectators at the 2016 Golden Globes with her slim figure highlighted by her enviable abs. The 36-year-old actress and mother of two did the honor of presenting the Best Animated Picture award for the night along with Kurt Russel, whom he looks up to as a father. According to People, Hudson credits her alkaline diet for her flat tummy.
"I live by a rule book of eating alkaline - no meat, no dairy, no gluten, I try to stay away from sugar - but I'll cheat when I want to since I'm a bit of a foodie," Hudson told People. "I try not to make it not so much about dieting, but rather everything in moderation."
The "Almost Famous" and "A Little Bit Of Heaven" star was reported to have lost as much as 70 pounds of weight after her two pregnancies and was able to maintain her figure since then. Hudson said that she wants to be as healthy as possible that is why she opted for the alkaline diet, according to Celebrity Health & Fitness.
"When you start to become more alkaline, it's just basically healthier," she said. "Everything digests better, your blood is [at a proper pH balance]." And, since she loves eating, Hudson said that the Alkaline diet suits her and it is critical for maintaining her flat abs and 70-pound weight loss.
It also helps that the actress is also into an active lifestyle. And, while she is not the type who spends hours in the gym working out, she still manages to do some fitness routines on a daily basis even if it's just for less than an hour a day. Her workout routines include running sprints, weightlifting, cardio exercise and Brazilian Butt Lift.
Other celebrities who are into the same diet are Kelly Ripa and Elle Macpherson. The alkaline diet made its way to mainstream media when Victoria Beckham tweeted about an alkaline diet cookbook in 2013.
Alkaline diet promises more than just weight loss because by making your body more alkaline you also protect your body from arthritis and cancer, says WebMD. The diet recommends eating alkaline-promoting foods such as most fruits and vegetables, soybeans and tofu, and some nuts, seeds, and legumes.
Meanwhile, it keeps you from the acidic side of things with food like dairy, eggs, meat, most grains, and processed foods, like canned and packaged snacks and convenience foods. Drinking alcohol or caffeine-filled beverages is also prohibited by a lot of Alkaline diet books.
