Melissa McCarthy 50-Lb Weight Loss Tips & Tricks: 'Spy' Actress Shows Off Slimmer Waist in a Metallic Kimono at the 2016 Golden Globes
Melissa McCarthy stunned the crowd as she showed of her slimmer waist and figure in a metallic kimono due to her 50-lb weight loss at the 2016 Golden Globe Awards.
According to Examiner, McCarthy lost 50 pounds with a low-carb diet. She reportedly has cut off bread and pasta and does Pilates workouts.
"Melissa has been on a high-protein, low carb diet. She has been making small changes and seeing big results," a source said, as reported by the website.
The 45-year-old actress has been nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Musical or Comedy for her role in her movie "Spy." She attended the event at The Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday with her husband and actor Ben Falcone.
She shared to Inquisitr that the Golden Globes is her most favorite Awards event. McCarthy explained that the event is "like a wedding" because she gets to see everyone. When asked if there's a possibility of a "Spy" sequel, the actress said that she's not sure yet.
"It's certainly a character I loved, I would go back to her in a minute, but we'll see. I have no idea," she said.
McCarthy was wearing a piece from her own recently-launched clothing brand, Seven7. While rocking her 50-pound weight loss, she wore a metallic kimono wrap and finished the look with a silver necklace, tousled waves and smoky eye makeup.
Her apparel line is strictly not for plus size women only. Her fashion line Melissa McCarthy Seven7 has 80 pieces with sizes ranging from 4 to 28 and priced at $60 to $160.
"I created a fashion line that is for all sizes," McCarthy said, as reported by Celebrity Health Fitness. "I've been every size under the rainbow. My sense of style never left me, but my options did."
McCarthy's desire to lose weight was for her own health and being good role model for her daughters. When asked how she maintained to be on the path of her diet, the star said that giving it no mind has been effective for her.
"I truly stopped worrying about it," the actress told Life & Style Magazine. "I think there's something to kinda loosening up and not being so nervous and rigid about it that, bizarrely, has worked."
Because of action scenes in her movie "Spy," McCarthy has also trained for workouts to prepare for the movie. "The second I knew I was doing the movie, I started training with an amazing martial arts instructor," she said.
