Many fans are excited for the "Green Lantern" reboot, "Green Lantern Corps." Among the things everybody is curious to find out is the actor who will be playing the titular role.

According to SlashFilm, Warner Bros. announced at their Comic-Con Hall H panel the title of their "Green Lantern" film, which they called "Green Lantern Corps." Per the report, this confirmed the rumors that the upcoming reboot will not only center on one Green Lantern.

There are several characters called Green Lanterns in the comics canon and they are all part of an intergalactic police force called the "Green Lantern Corps," does this mean that the film will star several actors?

Last year, there were rumors circulating online that Disney is eyeing Chris Pine for a role in its DC Cinematic Universe. There was confusion as to what character he will be playing. There were reports claiming that the actor is in negotiation for a male lead in "Wonder Woman" but another report claimed that he might be leading his own superhero film in the "Green Lantern" reboot.

Unfortunately, it seemed that those reports were baseless and it is unlikely that the "Star Trek" star will be involved in "Green Lantern." Pines admitted that he was never contacted or even had a conversation about starring the said film.

According to Collider, during the press day for "The Finest Hours," Pine was asked if he was offered the role of "Green Lantern" and his response might surprise many. "No. I was not offered Green Lantern ever, I've never had a conversation about Green Lantern," he said.

Cinema Blend believed that Pine chose the role of Steve Trevor in the "Wonder Woman" franchise over the titular role in "Green Lantern." The report stressed that this is a wise choice for the actor because leading another franchise might tarnish both "Green Lantern" and "Star Trek." Many are hoping that he will continue to lead the latter in the coming years.

Per the report, playing the second fiddle to Gal Gadot's titular heroin in "Wonder Woman" is the better option for Pine. Trevor and Hal Jordan, or Green Lantern, are both decorated pilots with similar backgrounds but in the former film, he will only be reacting to the actions of the goddess superhero while in the latter he would have led the way.

Gadot will be making her grand debut in the DC Cinematic Universe in "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice," which is slated to premiere on March 25. Meanwhile, Pine will be seen in "The Finest Hours," which is due out on Jan. 29. The "Wonder Woman" solo film will be released on June 23, 2017, while "Green Lantern" will hit the theaters on June 19, 2020.
