Smaller Breasts the New Trend? Here's What You Need to Know About Size Reduction
A new report suggested that getting larger breasts this year won't be the trend.
Fashion Times reported that based on an industry wide survey of plastic surgeons, this year would be for the flat-chested. Yes, you read it right, the biggest trend for this year is smaller breasts.
Sys-con reported that having large breasts in relation to one's frame may result to some problems including chronic neck and back pain, frequent headaches, poor posture, irritating rashes and a moderate to significant reduction of self-image or esteem.
For bosomy women who wish to downsize, here are the things that you should know about breast reduction before getting one.
Dr. Daniel Maman and Dr. Stafford R. Broumand offer breast reduction surgery to help women alleviate the issues associated with overly large breasts. However, before they do, they assess the individual's goals and expectation if she is a good candidate for surgery. The procedure will be explained in full detail if the patient qualifies.
The recovery and downtime after the operation are fast, which surprised the patients. "Women are often pleasantly surprised to find that recuperation is not as significant as they thought it might be," Maman wrote. "In most cases, patients are able to walk out of our office and return home on the day of their procedure, and the majority of individuals can actually get back to normal, non-strenuous activities within two weeks."
Another concern commonly raised by women is the scarring after the breast reduction. He stressed that scarring is inevitable but women who went through the procedure felt better among themselves and had fewer shoulder pains.
Going back to their exercise regimen and activities was easy after the operation. Furthermore, their clothes fit well, which makes them very happy. Maman explained that breast reduction scars could be concealed under the clothes, including the majority of bra and swimsuit varieties.
Maman stated that after the surgery, the patients felt "much better." There was no more shoulder pain, they can now wear appropriate fitting dresses and bras, and were able to do the workouts they did when they were teens.
Aside from these feel good benefits, they also look better. "Their breasts are situated higher in a rejuvenated, more youthful position for an overall improved appearance," he added.
For women with very big breasts, downsizing offers a relief from weight and inconvenience. Do you agree with this? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
