'Tekken 7: Fated Retribution' Release Date: Arcade Testing Expected Soon!
The anticipation for "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" will soon be over because the title will be coming out soon.
Bandai Namco will not be dragging the release date of the anticipated game "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution." The team just announced that the game would be released for arcade testing in Japan.
The initial testing will start on Feb. 12 and will conclude on Feb 14. CrossMap reported that testing locations will be held in the Namco Sugamo in Tokyo, Round One Stadium Sennichimae arcade in Osaka and Namco's Hakata Bus Terminal arcade in Fukuoka.
Arcade testing for video games remains popular in Japan as compared in America and other Western countries where arcade is slowly dying down. In fact, only a handful of arcade center is open. Some were turned as a museum of old cabinets or a novelty place and a few remain operational for hardcore arcade players.
The Bitbag informed that the official title "Fated Retribution" was announced last December alongside their release for the title's trailer. Among the new playable characters that surprised fans is the inclusion of Akuma from Capcom's "Street Fighter" series.
Akuma usually introduced himself before his match as the "Master of the Fist." Forbes reported that the character would have a major role in "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution." He will be involved in the story because Kazumi Mishima will order him to kill Heihachi.
The couple Heihachi and Kazumi shares a complex relationship. The report suggested that Kazumi's involvement with her husband had resulted in several tragedies in the series' storyline.
She chose Akuma because the self-proclaimed Master of Fist has a similar role to Heihachi. The two characters will be a good match against each other in the gameplay.
Akuma's appearance in "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" triggers many to be hopeful for the potential crossover of "Tekken" and "Street Fighter" series. Unfortunately, the anticipated crossover is unlikely to happen.
Latinos Health previously reported that only Akuma will be joining "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" and fans should not expect for more "Street Fighter" combatants in the "Tekken" series.
"Right now, Akuma is the only one we have planned," said "Tekken 7" senior game designer Michael Murray to PlayStation Lifestyle. "Harada [Game Producer Katsuhiro Harada] and I have always been against guest characters because it kinda throws off the Tekken world and setting."
The title will be released across all arcades in Japan within a few months if the initial test for "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" will be successful.
