Jamie Foxx Saves Driver’s Life in an Unscripted Act
"A Million Ways to Die in the West" actor Jamie Foxx saves a driver's life in an unscripted act on Monday evening.
The Hollywood star has helped the victim, Brett Kyle, aged 32, from a blazing car after it crashed near his home in Los Angeles area. It is said that the victim narrowly escaped that fire by only a few seconds, ABC News reported.
A bystander, who is a certified EMT, helped Kyle together with Foxx, who called 911. The actor rushed down to his driveway where the accident happened and to assist the trapped victim. The flames have already reached the cabin, so the actor and the bystander pulled the driver out. After merely 5 seconds, the truck has gone up into a blazing inferno.
Witnesses to the incident said that the flames were getting bigger and that gas was also leaking from the tank. The actor and the bystander have used a tool to break the window and so they were able to cut the seatbelt that trapped the driver, freeing him.
CBS News reported that the police have found that Kyle -- seen lying on the ground after the heroic rescue of an EMT bystander and Foxx -- was under the influence of alcohol and was speeding when he lost control of the vehicle. It hit a ditch near Foxx's home and flipped for a number of times before it burst into flames.
Kyle's father, Brad, then stopped by the scene the next day where the accident happened to thank the Hollywood actor. The latter has showed him the security video and told him that his son had angels around him.
"If he didn't help, my son would have burned up right here. ... It doesn't matter to me who it was or what they do for a living or whatever," the father of the driver said. "Just the idea that someone would do that is so much more than I can fathom. ... It's all tears of joy."
"It doesn't matter to me who it was or what they do for a living or whatever," the humble actor has said. "Just the idea that someone would do that is so much more than I could fathom. I don't look at it as heroic. I just look at it like, you know, you just had to do something."
It is also reported that the driver is eventually going to be "arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol." The injuries he acquired include major head, neck and chest trauma.
