New rumors are suggesting that two Nexus smartphones will be unveiled this year.

Google usually released a new Nexus smartphone every year. PC Advisor reported that the company announced two during their annual Android update last year.

Google will be launching Android N this year and, following its tradition, the American multinational technology company will likely be releasing a new smartphone. Many are expecting that if there will be new Nexus units it will be Nexus 5 and Nexus 6.

Both smartphones will be running Android N if the reports are true. But, what can we expect from these two devices aside from their operating system?

Nexus 5 Specs & Design

A Chinese blogging site called Weibo suggested that HTC might be designing Nexus 5. If so, the device might be arriving with a metal body. There are speculations that it will be equipped with QHD display but it is also likely that the standard smartphone will stick with a full HD screen.

There are not much details about Nexus 5. AndroidPit claimed that the device would be likely around $350 just like its predecessor. It would be a counterpoint to the more premium Nexus 6.

Nexus 6 Specs & Design

Gizmochina  suggested that Huawei will co-produce Nexus 6. Thus, the upcoming device might be a metal phablet.

AndroidPit stated in a separate report that there are rumors the device will feature a 6-inch QHD display. The display resolution has a niche appeal that is expensive to produce. It is also likely that it will be arriving with a 2K resolution given that Nexus 5 and Nexus 5X from 2015 both have full HD resolutions. The display size is expected to be something between 5.5 and 6 inches.

Nexus 6 will be equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820. The new processor brings a new architecture that helps it achieve a faster speed than its predecessor, Snapdragon 810. Many are hopeful that it will resolve the overheating problems aside from the speed. Also, the device's performance and graphics will also be improved with this chip.

Meanwhile, customers are hoping that wireless charging will return in Nexus 6. At the same time, some are looking forward to experiencing a quick charging in the new device.

Nexus 6 will approximately cost around $649 given that the original Nexus 6 and Nexus 6 (2015) both launched at the given price range.

There is no official announcement as to when Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 will be available but many are looking forward to seeing the new smartphones this year. Many are hopeful that it will be available in the fourth quarter, perhaps October.
