Gamers are counting down the days to the highly anticipated "Halo 5: Guardians" update, which is titled "Infinity's Armory." As per IGN, the update will feature a number of interesting features, including two new battlegrounds called Riptide, an Arena map, and Urban, a new Warzone Assault map.

If the update's name sounds familiar, it's because it was named after the famous star ship in the game. Multiplayer environment artist Tim Diaz opened up to Screenrant to talk about these interesting maps, which gamers will love to explore for sure.

"One of the things I talked over with our lighting artist, Kevin Daziel, was the intense lighting we had for Battle of Noctus. We decided we should go just as extreme, so we made this level a night level. It may not seem like much on paper but going with that decision has many perils. For darker maps, it’s easier for certain colors to blend into the darkness; and for multiplayer, that throws off balance and fairness which can lead to a not so fun experience," Diaz explained. "You have the ability to accidentally shadow key points and paths as well as many other things. We went through many variations of night lighting and custom character lighting to get the right look and feel."

According to Halo Waypoint, gamers will be challenged to fight over the grassy hills and many sightlines of Urban, as it features a sprawling and densely populated urban metroplex. Meanwhile, Riptide features weathered structures made of steel and sand.

But aside from the two new maps to explore, the "Infinity Armory" update will also feature three complete armor sets, the first being the Mark V that is reminiscent of the Master Chief's helmet in "Halo: Combat Evolved". Fans will also enjoy sporting several weapon skins such as the assault rifle with pizza design, because who doesn't love pizza?

Speaking of gear, the "Infinity Armory" update also includes a treat for major fans, as the game is welcoming back the "Halo 2" battle rifle, including its sound effects, classic zoom system, and the "Halo 2" Anniversary design model. Gamespot also reports that new assassinations have been added, and they're called "Wind Up" and amusingly, "Stop Stabbing Yourself."

"Infinity Armory" is the third and latest update since "Halo 5" was released in October. The first two free expansions were "Battle of Shadow", which debuted in November and "The Cartographer's Gift", which was released in December.
