'Frozen 2' Release Date & Plot: Anna's Powers Related to Summer? Princess Gets Fire Superpower [Rumors]
The success of Disney's 2013 film "Frozen" is undeniable with the movie earning the distinction of being the highest-grossing animated movie of all time raking in a total of $1.3 billion in the box office worldwide. However, while Disney could hugely cash in on making the sequel, the massive success of the original film puts a lot of pressure on the producers to deliver anew.
And, as latest reports and rumors would have it, it seems like Disney is cooking up something special for the fans. One of the angles that have surfaced is one where it was surmised that Anna will have her own superpower revealed in the upcoming installment from the franchise.
"The theory of Princess Anna's super powers; since Anna and Elsa are sisters, it is not impossible for Anna to have super powers as well, some theories are saying that since Elsa's powers is winter, the power of Anna will be summer or fall," Crossmap reported.
Some reports claimed that Anna could have the power of fire. And, since it's the complete antithesis of Elsa's power related to extreme cold, there are also others who believe that the two sisters could be pitted against one another with Anna a more formidable rival this time around.
Fans, though, should take the reports with a grain of salt as no official word from the "Frozen" camp have been released as of yet. However, film director Chris Buck shared that they already have an idea on where they would like to take the story in the upcoming film.
In an interview, Buck said that the important thing is that they know where they are going. However, he admitted that they still have a lot of things to figure out.
Meanwhile, other theories linked to "Frozen 2" include a prediction about the inclusion of a female villain in Arendelle who could be possessing a power of her own that has something to do with one of the elements, as well, and could rival that of Elsa's.
Then, there is the theory about Jack Frost whom some fans have tried to romantically link with Elsa. The rumor isn't likely to materialized, though, as Frost's character is owned by another film outfit DreamWorks.
Fans were also looking forward to reports that Olaf, the endearing snowman, will also be getting his own love interest for the upcoming sequel, according to the Movie News Guide. All these theories are helping in the build-up of the next film, which is likely to have a release date of not earlier than 2018.
