Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge Specs & Release Date: Official Event Teaser Unveiled, Flagship Phones Out in Three Weeks With Video Upgrades [Rumors]
New reports are suggesting that the next Samsung Galaxy S flagship, S7 and S7 Edge will be arriving this month.
There is no doubt that Samsung is Apple's strongest competition in the market. Both companies follow a launching tradition. The Cupertino-based company usually has its event in the fourth quarter of the year, while the South Korean company hosts its event every February, Inquisitr noted.
Android Headlines reported that one Twitter user posted a teaser image of the upcoming event. There were two photos; the first one has a headline "#TheNextGalaxy", while the other has "Feb. 21, 2016." Rumor mills suggest that two phones will be unveiled in the event, the anticipated Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.
There are speculations that varying specifications and hardware are used for the phones. One of the two devices will likely be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 processor, which is not unlikely, given that Samsung manufactures the chipset.
Other hardware specifications include a 5.1-inch screen with a 2K resolution. There are also rumors suggesting that instead of the Snapdragon 820 CPU from Qualcomm, Samsung could opt for the Exynos 8890 chipset.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 is expected to feature 4GB or 3GB RAM with 3000mAh battery power. The device will likely be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It is also alleged to come with a 12MP BRITECELL camera on the back.
Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge may have the same specifications, except for the display, which will likely be larger, perhaps measuring 5.5 inches. Moreover, it may come with the same resolution.
On a separate note, Eldar Murtazin, who has an excellent record in predicting smartphones, thinks that the next Samsung flagship will deliver an impressive video-related performance. Value Walk reported that aside from its outstanding video capabilities, the device would be capable of over 17 hours of continuous video playback with full brightness.
Galaxy S6 has 13 hours of video playback while the recent Galaxy Note 5 has 15 hours. Thus, it is feasible to achieve 17 hours of video playback for Galaxy S7.
Therefore, the Samsung Galaxy S7 could be the next hot item for video enthusiasts.
There are also rumors that Samsung will increase the battery size of the Galaxy S7 and that it will come with optimized Touch Wiz to improve the device's video performance.
Samsung did not confirm all these details yet, but users are expecting that more information will be revealed on Feb. 21, which many believe would be the date of the company's annual Unpacked event.
If the reports are true, then the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge are just three weeks away. Are you excited for these new handsets? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
