'Dark Souls 3' Release Date & Trailer: Gameplay Footage Leaked, More Active Combat & Bloodborne-Like Graphics [Video]
A new footage of the anticipated game "Dark Souls 3" surfaces online, which grows the excitement among gamers and fans.
Per IGN, the leaked footage was pulled from the developer's recent live stream. Gilmore Mizzi posted it on YouTube.
Many were pleased to finally find another video of the upcoming game "Dark Souls 3." Eurogamer spotted similar similarities in the recent footage to "Bloodborne."
The six-minute clip highlighted a more creative combat system where the player can fleet-foot, side step and dodge an attack from approaching enemies, which is a first in the "Dark Souls" series. Moreover, the player can now use a backstab attack that looks just like the move found in last year's PlayStation 4 exclusive. Another interesting part of the leaked video include its dark setting and blood splatter effects that are close to the "Bloodborne" setting as well.
The similarities of "Dark Souls 3" and "Bloodborne" should not be a surprise because the former was inspired by the limits of the latter, Gamerant reported. So, the two games have a connection.
"Because of the character of Bloodborne's gameplay, its battle style, as well as the role-playing elements, it's limited compared to the Dark Souls franchise," said "Dark Soul 3" director Hidetaka Miyazaki.
"It doesn't necessarily mean Bloodborne was bad. However, while working on [it] I realised, I want to [create] something, which has a wide range of battle styles, or features magic, or those things, which allow players to wear awesome armour. Those elements are what actually made me come [back] to the Dark Souls franchise."
Aside from the impressive similarities between "Dark Souls 3" and "Bloodborne," the clip also featured the bow and arrow mechanics briefly, Gamerant reported. At first glance, it appears that it fires at a faster rate than the same weapon in the previous installments of "Dark Souls." However, it shows that the bow and arrow gameplay will also consume the player's MP that might indicate the rapid-fire, which is likely part of a new skill for thieves.
The short clip was filled with scenes that made the series so popular, which only confirmed that "Dark Souls 3" deserved to be among the most anticipated video game in 2016.
The gameplay is challenging and the characters abilities and maneuvering skills are as deep and intricate as ever. Moreover, it is set at the medieval Gothic era, which makes the fantasy world more exciting and wonderful.
"Dark Souls 3" will be released for PS4, Xbox One and PC on April 12 in North America, South America and Europe.
