Sprint is one of the athletic contests in the sport of track and field. Their players are known to be one of the most hardworking people at the track when it comes to fitness training.
One of its famous athletes is the 31-year-old Sanya Richards-Ross. She is a Jamaican-American track and field star who competes internationally and won several medals for the United States. She has won the Olympic gold in the 2012 Summer Olympics and she has been the best female sprinter for the last decade, ranking number 1 for several years.
A lot of people are wondering how Richards-Ross is able to get the energy she needed for her fitness routine. She sports an amazing body but she admits to be a huge eater. She likes pizza, ice cream and skittles. Those are the kinds of food you wouldn't expect to be eaten regularly by a person who does not appear to have a single fat in the body.
According to Buzzfeed, 40 percent of her training is strength-based. It may sound odd to some people because her sport involves a lot of running and she only does 60 percent of that during training. She practices multiple variations of lifting weights in her training, which is pretty amazing.
Nevertheless, when she does her running, things get real on the field. She runs five days a week and spends two hours per day doing sprint training at an amazing distance of 200 meters to 800 meters. But, that's not all, she also cross-trains by running on an underwater treadmill and cycling. She also does an amazing 1,000 sit-ups every night.
It is definitely a crazy workout program for Richards-Ross. Aside from her physical training, she said that mental training is just as important.
Meanwhile, according to Cosmopolitan, despite her athletic build, Richard-Ross is a proud woman.
"I embrace who I am and I'm not ashamed of being all woman - I love fashion, I love hair, I love makeup, and I'm always trying to make a statement, whether it's something subtle or something in your face, but I also love being strong," the athlete said. "I don't think that you should shame yourself for not having the perfect body, because no woman has the perfect body."
