Court denies Brad Pitt emergency hearing, 'Allied' star continues child custody battle
An emergency hearing was filed by the estranged husband of Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, shortly after the documents went public about their temporary custody agreement. The hearing is to seal the documents involve in his divorce and the custody of their children.
Just recently, it was reported that Angelina Jolie had filed new court documents in the custody of their children, outlining their agreement between her and her estranged husband Brad Pitt last December 2. In the agreement, it was stated that Jolie should have the custody of the minor children and Pitt will continue to have the agreed upon therapeutic visitation with the kids.
However, Pitt's disagreement to the condition of the agreement leads to his frantic effort to call an emergency hearing in the court right after the temporary custody agreement was approved.
According to Radar Online, Brad Pitt told the court in writing that "I am extremely concerned that if court records regarding custody are not sealed, information contained therein will cause irreparable damage to our children's privacy rights." "To protect our children from irreparable damage, I am respectfully requesting that all custody-related pleadings be sealed" Pitt added.
However, the court denies Brad Pitt's request and Pitt is required to identify the documents to be sealed specifically.
"Pitt's moved to keep all matters regarding the former couple's divorce as well as the information about their six minor children namely Maddox, now, 15, Pax 12, Zahara 11, Shiloh 10 and twins Knox and Viviene 8, private as their legal battle continues" Lance Spiegel, Brad Pitt's attorney, confirming to E! News.
Spiegel also told E! that Pitt can still win the motion. "The judge did not see Brad Pitt's request as an emergency action but did not deny the request to seal the documents." The hearing was schedule in January 2017, and Pitt still got the chance to make the documents private.
