Microsoft And Qualcomm Paired Together: Invention Of x86 Apps For ARM Devices
It was in the recently conducted WinHEC show, China that Microsoft made announcements of its Windows 10 native version. With the failure of Windows RT, this was another attempt by the company to regain the lost ground in the mobile processor market.
This fresh version of Windows 10 will be running on Qualcomm Snapdragon and will allow users to run all universal Windows apps with Win32 applications. But in its starting phase, users will only be able to use 32-bit of x86 support!
A video demo was done where Windows 10 was run with an 820 processor device having Qualcomm Snapdragon. Adobe PS and some games were checked out and the results came out quite well. The performance was good with every application coming out smoothly!
In a blog post of Windows, Terry Myerson, chief of Windows stated-for the first time users will experience Windows which they know so well. The exact version of using Adobe PS or complete version of MS Office Suite or any known Windows 10 game on their tabs and smart phones is a reality now!
Furthermore, another impressive fact was this Windows 10 ran well with a 64bit Enterprise Edition. Through the Continuum technology of the company, their tabs and smart phones will run full Windows 10 version through a docking cable.
Terry also mentioned in the blog post of Windows that "For the first time ever, our customers will be able to experience the Windows they know with all the apps, peripherals and enterprise capabilities they require, on a truly mobile, power efficient, always connected cellular PC."
He also added that through their cellular PC version of Windows 10, their aim is to allow users to make the most of their surrounding air. Their aim is to introduce devices having cellular connectivity integrated along with Windows Hello, touch, pen features, in the first part of 2017.
Sources of PCWorld report that Qualcomm is preparing for a new chip namely the Snapdragon 835. The chip is presently in its production stage.
The entire emulation will be based on this new chip. Speculations hold that the Snapdragon 835 will be shipped in the 1st part of 2017 and the primary Windows on ARM device will launch by the very year's 2nd half.
