Showtime has released the official trailer for "Homeland" upcoming sixth season on Friday, just one month before the "Homeland" Season 6 premieres. Showtime has released the official trailer for the upcoming season.

The Showtime drama is in New York, it deals with the tension associated with transition for a president-elect (Elizabeth Marvel).

Although Quinn (Rupert Friend) is not seen, the trailer teases his return, as Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) is heard speaking with him, seemingly awake after last seen in an awful state in the season five Finale. The video ends with Quinn asking Carrie, "What happened to me?"

The casts of "Homeland" already revealed before the trailer that Quinn is alive. Danes said earlier this fall that Carrie is in New York because Quinn is receiving therapy in the city, after his Season 5 coma, according to Yahoo.

Show-runner Alex Gansa has been pretty quiet about how Quinn would return to the series after the tragedy that almost took his life.

"We really want to be careful about revealing what his condition is," Alex told reporters, according to Hollywood Reporter.

He said, quinn suffered a major stroke last season and that fans are going to see a very changed and altered version of Quinn this year. Alex says Quinn, this coming season, will represent a profound and familiar casualty of the war on terror for the audience.

"What he endured last year is different from what he will go through this year. This year will be suffused with his daily relationship with Claire's character." Alex added.

The trailer also showcased a transition to a new administration with Elizabeth Marvel as the new president. The timing will coincidentally parallel with the US president-elect Donald Trump's inauguration, which is scheduled for early next year.

Other new but familiar faces in the "Homeland" sixth season are Robert Knepper and Dominic Fumusa. Homeland season 6 premiers on January 15, 2017.
