BlackBerry Will Not Anymore Make And Sell Its Brand Smartphone; TCL Will Do The Task
BlackBerry made an initial announcement in September about their cessation of phone designing and building.
The Canadian company hinted "hardware partners," which will work on the manufacturing and marketing BlackBerry branded phones soon. And now, BlackBerry came with a final decision authorizing the TCL company. This Chinese multinational electronics corporation also deals mobile gadgets under the Alcatel brand.
In fact, TCL and BlackBerry already worked together on two smartphones, particularly the DTEK50 and DTEK60. The two phones were branded under Alcatel designs, and more method like this seems to be anticipated shortly.
According to an official BlackBerry site, TCL will do the phone design as well as manufacturing and worldwide marketing together with a committed group of traders. The company will also present customer assistance for BlackBerry-branded mobile devices.
BlackBerry on their part will warrant its protection software and service suite, and to linked brand resources to TCL Communication.
TCL will become the sole worldwide creator and distributor of all future BlackBerry-branded smartphones except to India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Indonesia.
There's no explanation yet why BlackBerry didn't include the said countries but maybe other hardware partners will take charge in establishing and trading phones over there.
According to PC World report, TCL has a grade in reviving other companies' brands. They actually procured the smartphone business from Alcatel which is a French telecommunications company. And now, TCL is rank among the number four phone brand in North America.
The company is on its way to transport about 70 million mobile phones this year, and fifty per cent of it are smartphones.
Meanwhile, TCL is in a bit harmony about its next creation after the DTEK50 and DTEK60. The company will probably reveal its plan in the upcoming months.
The settlement with TCL Communication is BlackBerry's preliminary universal licensing agreement
