Big Breasts Are No Longer Sexier: Plastic Surgery Trends Show Small Is In
The bigger the better has been the mantra when it comes to the breast, however the modern age women are increasingly opting for smaller bust size.
According to The Telegraph, glamour girl Katie Price was the face of this bigger-better brigade and seemed to go up a breast size every year. Another diva Victoria Beckham also represented that club. But new statistics by the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), reveal that boob jobs have drastically dropped in number, with 20 percent less women opting for breast enhancement compared to last year. Simultaneously, cases of breast reductions have been on an increase by three percent.
To say the least, the era of Wonderbra's 'Hello Boys seems to have come to an end, with bust-blessed idols like Katie Price and Posh Spice undergoing breast reduction surgeries. Price shed her extravagant 32 FF to a natural 32B size, while Mrs. Beckham seems to have forgotten her old possessions.
People reported a new research conducted by The Plastic Surgery Group showing that now women were also opting for smaller nipples and areola during breast surgeries so that they can be easily reshaped and repositioned. The Group's consultant plastic surgeon Dr. Dan Marsh claims there has been 30 percent rise in women requesting a smaller nipple size in the last year.
Another Doctor Marc Mani confirmed the rise of this new trend among his clientele. He also defined plastic surgery as a deception in its ideal form. Talking about why there has been such a trend towards smaller implants, Mani believes people now want their surgeries to be more subtle .
"We are trying to create something that is more beautiful but that looks like nature made it, not a plastic surgeon. People's tastes are getting more refined and aware of this fact, and so any breast enhancement that looks artificial is, from this perspective, an abject failure." concludes Doctor Mani.
