ODG Unveiled Its Reality Glasses, First To Use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 Chip

Osterhout Design Group newly raised $58 million together with an intention to spread out its smart glasses and augmented reality footprint.

According to ZDNet, ODG pleasantly acts over its expansion plans since it revealed its R-8 and R-9 smart glasses. ODG is familiar for manufacturing smart glasses as well as other gears for groups such as the U.S. military.

During the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, ODG emphasized how its latest smart glasses are formed to counterparts already existing gadgets. In addition, it presents augmented reality adventures and 3D connects for gaming.

The R-8 and R-9 are two smart glass devices, which are intended to link work and subscriber's applications.

As per the TechCrunch report, R-9 is hinged on ODG's 50° FOV, its Project Horizon platform will be initially available roughly on Q2 of this current year. It cost approximately $1,799 and was intended for light enterprise and prosumer uses.

R-8, on the other hand, is smaller and lighter will be retailed under $1,000. It will transport its initial developer items during the second half of this year, but a consumer's shipping date is yet to be announced.
