'Pokemon Snap' Game Is Returning On Wii U After 18 Years
People are eagerly waiting for Nintendo Switch and already packing up their old consoles. There is a good news for Wii U owners. Nintendo 64 classic, Pokémon Snap will be available from January 5.
Everyone who started to think that Nintendo's attention is only towards Switch then it is not completely true. The 1999 Pokémon photography game will now be available in eShop.
According to Polygon, some are losing hope that there will ever be a new, updated take for modern hardware as the popular series spinoff approaches its 18th anniversary. The Wii U Virtual Console release, Pokémon Snap already launched in Japan and Europe months ago.
It is mentioned in Nintendo's official Pokémon Snap page that this game will release on Wii U platform and it will release on January 5, 2017. It is a single player adventure game and it is compatible with Wii U Gamepad, Wii U Pro Controller, Wii Remote, Wii Remote Plus and Wii Remote plus Classic Controller.
Pokémon Snap was first released on the N64 in 1999. Unlike Pokémon Go, in this Pokémon game, gamer have to take a photograph of Pokémon instead of catching them. It is just like Pokémon Safari where gamer needs to find and snap pictures of 63 different Pokémon.
Players have to travel around Pokémon Island to take photos of pocket monsters in the wild. There are many types of climates and environments to explore on the island along with secret activities and hidden packages to discover.
Gamer has to trick their Pokémon to pose for the camera as some Pokémon can be a little shy and gamers have to trick them with special items. After getting the snap, the user has to submit one picture of each Pokémon to Professor Oak.
Professor Oak will judge the pictures based on size, pose, technique and number of Pokémon captured. Pokémon Go was the most trending game of last year and everyone expects more and more from Pokémon series.
Last month, Mario Kart 64 was launched on the Wii U and this month it is Pokémon Snap. This Pokémon game is available for $9.99 and it will run on Wii U consoles.
