Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Update: Curious Theory Behind Explosions Will Be Revealed On January 23 [VIDEO]

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was launched with a lot of pomp in September 2016. However, within one month, the smartphone turned out to be the biggest fiasco in the electronic industry's history.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 started catching fire due to the faulty battery. Though initially the incident was underreported, but later it was fully blown the cover. Samsung immediately offered a replacement battery. Even those phones started to catch fire much to the embarrassment of the company.

The number of incidents quadrupled within weeks, raising the alarm of safety agencies all around. According to CNET, after reporting of 35 such incidents worldwide, Samsung recalled all Galaxy Note 7 devices sold that is 1 million of out 2.5 million manufactured. And what followed is a total ban on the sale of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and withdrawal of the flagship product altogether.

According to Reuters, a top official working in Samsung with anonymous identity has informed that the company will disclose the result of its internal probe on the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 explosion theory. Samsung is ready to table its report on January 23, 2017, before third quarter earnings, and want to come clean before Samsung S8 launch in mid this year. The source reveals, Koh Dong-jin, head of Samsung's mobile business, will present the financial results along with the safety measures taken by the company to prevent recurrence of such accidents in the future.  

Many investors and analysts want a thorough and comprehensive report on this debacle that dented Samsung's revenue by $5 billion. "They've got to make sure they come clean and they've got to reassure buyers as to why this won't happen again," said Bryan Ma, the Singapore-based analyst for researcher IDC. Similarly, Customers are looking for a safer and better design, which obviate such incidents in future.    

In an earnings preview, Samsung surprised everyone with an operating profit of $7.2 billion more than $6 billion a year ago. Incidentally, this is the largest quarterly income since 2013.
