Recent Study Reveal Drinking Five Cups Of Coffee A Day Is Good For The Health
Several studies and researches have been made about the effects of coffee to a person's health and a recent study may just put an end to the age old question of whether or not coffee is bad for the health to rest. According to a recent study issued in the Nature Medicine journal, old people who were coffee drinkers had better chances of driving away major diseases.
Time has reported that the proponent of the study, David Furman, has concluded that people who drink more caffeine has more protection against chronic inflammation. According to Furman, some of the major diseases are diseases caused by inflammation.
Proponents of the research study took and analyze blood samples from 100 people both young and old. The blood analysis reveal that people tend to have more inflammation activity as they get older. According to Furman, the diseases associated to ageing like hypertension, Alzheimer's, heart ailments, joint disorders, diabetes and even cancer all have common inflammation. Furman even concluded that these diseases are not really due to ageing alone but actually caused by inflammations.
The study also revealed that the older people who had low levels of inflammation all had one thing in common, that is they all are regular coffee drinkers. Also, Furman indicated that those individuals who actually consume a minimum of five cups of coffee a day displayed the lowest level inflammatory gene pathway activity. This only means consuming more coffee may actually be better for the health.
The published research also discussed that inflammatory activity is not dangerous per se as it actually serves a key purpose in the immune system. Inflammation is said to protect the body from infections and helps eliminate potentially dangerous compounds from our body.
The inflammation process may not however be regulated as efficiently as an individual gets older. This is where the added caffeine boost kicks in.
