The Dangers of Vaping: Man Loses Teeth After E-Cigarette Explodes On His Face
Vaping is starting to make waves as it is now considered as one of the biggest trends. Though it was mentioned that it is a healthier alternative to smoking, there is possible health risk that may come with vaping. Last week, a man from Idaho was rushed to the hospital after his vape explodes in his face.
Andrew Hall, from Pocatello, Idaho was vaping on his way to work when it blew up in his face. Hall was rushed to the hospital as the explosion caused him to lose seven teeth and a huge burn on his face. Aside from the burns, the injury also made it hard for him to eat.
"I did not do anything I wasn't supposed to (battery was in right, always had the shop put it together when I first bought it and add things and maintenance it the right way while taking their advice) but it exploded in my face," Hall stated as mentioned by The Sun. "I vape I know, terrible and uncool but I no longer do and I hope to possible sway those that do to maybe reevaluate or find other methods of smoking. I'm currently in the ICU and doing well so rest assured and these are very graphic photos."
Daily Mail also added that the explosion was possibly caused by the overheating batteries. The batters that were used for his vape was LG HG2 battery which is commonly used by vapers. The explosion was too strong that it even damaged his bathroom sink, causing part of it to shatter.
Andrew Hall's case was not the first as there were several cases that were reported in regards to vape explosions. Though it is often mentioned that it is safer than tobacco, there are also possible health risks that come with using vaporizers.
