'Yuri on Ice' Season 2 News & Update: Big Event to Take Place Next Month; Talks for Second Installment are Ignited
Even after the first season of "Yuri on Ice" concluded, fans are still talking about the highly popular anime series that made headlines due to its figure skating storylines and LGBT themes. There's no official word on the release of the second season. However, a big event will be held on February for fans.
According to Crunchy Roll, "Yuri on Ice" fans will relive the drama, emotional heights, and romantic arcs that the first installment provided through an all-night screening. Followers of the figure skating anime series may have already watched the episodes again and again. This time, though, Yuri and Viktor will skate on the big screens.
The outlet says the all-night screening for "Yuri on Ice" will take place at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills in Tokyo, Japan. The screening will kick off at 10 PM on February 11. That's not all, fans will get to see Mitsurou Kubo, who is considered the brain of the hit series.
Those who will attend the screening will also see the voice actors for Viktor, Yuri Katsuki, and Yuri Plisetsky. It is unclear what other things the screening will feature but fans are encouraged to be part of the "Yuri on Ice" occasion. Fans who won't make it to the big screen event can still watch the live streaming of the talk show featuring Kubo and the others as well as the screening. The live streaming will air in 47 different cinemas in Japan.
Unfortunately, tickets for the TOHO Cinemas screening are already sold out. Anime! Anime! also says the ticket selling for the "Yuri on Ice" occasion has already ended on Tuesday. On the other hand, there could still be changes until the big night comes. Fans are encouraged to stay alert in case tickets for the streaming cinemas will start selling again.
