Common Household Objects Need Frequent Cleaning as they Harbor Millions of Germs, Study
Cleaning major objects at homes takes the whole attention of housewives while they forget that some very commonly used household items like toothbrush holder, a can opener, light switches and telephones hold millions of germs that are never cleaned? Most probably these items and much other similar to these must be washed and disinfected more often.
The most striking are the facts about toothbrush holders. Replacing the toothbrush regularly and washing it fully clean may have been a routine of many but how many of you have ever stopped to think about the hygiene of the holder? In fact, a study reveals that toothbrush holders are the third most germ infested object at home, according to Daily Mail.
The can opener is another tool that seldom gets a good wash. It must be washed to clean from the grime that often gathers on it. But it needs to dry immediately to prevent rust. Same is true to the hairbrush. It needs good washing to clean dust, dead skin cells, particles of hair care products etc. Some shampoo in a bowl of warm water is all that you need to dip your hairbrush in. After washing leave dry overnight, reports WB News.
Light switches and telephones are used multiple times a day and all sorts of germs can be found there. Keeping them clean is super easy and very essential, too. A piece of cloth dabbed in a disinfectant is sufficient to wipe these clean in a couple of minutes.
Door knobs handle, and PC keyboards are also the same story. These places harbor most of the germs that transfer diseases fast. The easiest way to clean door handles is to wipe them with a wet cloth once to clean dirt and dust and then spray some disinfectant on them and wipe with a dry cloth again.
You can think of many other hard-to-imagine objects at home which are frequently used but seldom cleaned. Take out some time on the weekend and clean all such tools and spots at home that may harbor germs without you notice!
